This detail page shows several photos of the book to show what a first edition looks like.  The images are original photos taken of my personal copy of the first edition book. 

The Final Deduction (1961):

• The dustjacket has some unique features:
• The front flap has the price  ($2.95) at the top and "The Viking Press New York" at the bottom. 
• The rear flap has three lines about Viking Press above "Printed in USA".
• The book club edition only has "Printed in USA" on the back flap.
• The title page has 1961 on it, which is not on the book club edition.
• The copyright page has the Library of Congress catalog number and "Printed in the USA by Colonial Press" on it.  The copyright information is towards the top of the page on the book club edition and towards the bottom on the first edition.
• The first edition book cover is light red with a blue colophon on it, and blue lettering on the spine.
• The book cover on the book club edition is blue with a colophon.

• The first edition measures .8" x 5.6" x 8.25"
• The book club edition measures .65" x 5.8" x 8.55"
