This detail page shows several photos of the book to show what a first edition looks like. The images are original photos taken of my personal copy of the first edition book.
The Father Hunt (1968):
- The dustjacket has some unique features:
- The front flap has the price ($4.50) at the top and the endpapers are black instead of white.
- The back flap has three lines about Viking Press on it.
- The title and copyright pages are NOT different between the two editions.
- The first edition book is thicker and the book cover is red with a black spine and white lettering, completely different, as you can see below.
- I have included an animated GIF file that compares many of the relevant points for a clearer understanding.
- The first edition measures .9" x 5.7" x 8.25"
- The book club edition measures .75" x 5.7" x 8.55"
